Sara first became interested in Chinese medicine when her father chose alternative health modalities to treat hepatitis. Natural medicine added years to his life and improved his quality of life while struggling with this chronic illness. During that time, she committed herself to educating and helping others through natural health. Sara completed her 4-year medical training in Classical Chinese Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, earning a Master’s of Science degree in Oriental Medicine. She is designated as a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Missouri.
Sara’s specialized training is focused on the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Classical Chinese Medicine has strong roots in the Daoist tradition, studying nature’s balance as a symbol of health, encompassing the mind-body-spirit connection of human beings in the natural environment, and viewing health as the concept of “nourishing life” to maximize physiological activities. Adding this knowledge to a foundation of biomedical training, Sara offers her ability to create a unique integrative health experience. Her expertise in acupuncture is focused on the treatment of difficult, chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, auto-immune disorders, and mental/emotional imbalances.
"In my practice of Classical Chinese Medicine I am focused on each client's individual wellness goals. By listening to clients' health concerns and explaining each diagnosis and treatment plan, I help broaden their path to wellness with new tools and deep awareness as they reach optimal spiritual, mental, and physical well-being."
